L-A: I’m a huge fan of Project Runway.

The Canadian version is good (we’ve put forward some serious talent), but I really love the original for the Klum and Tim Gunn. How can you not love Heidi? She’s not just a supermodel, she’s a superhero!

The Kluminator and her sidekick the Sassy Superhero (aka. our fave: Coco Rocha!): awesome, n’est pas?

Anyway, the point was not to share my love of The Kluminator with you. The point is to talk Project Runway. I love watching a reality show that involves some serious talent and skills.  Just because you know how to sew, doesn’t mean you can design something beautiful. And just because you have great design sense, doesn’t mean it’ll translate into fabric.  And of course, the bitchiness of the contestants. That’s always amusing.

But the real point is to tell you about the Off the Cuff fashion competition happening at Argyle Fine Art every Sunday until August 3.

It’s like Project Runway, except it’s happening here in Halifax! Exciting!

Here’s the outcome of the first challenge: create the perfect little black dress out of a t-shirt:

Well, I know what I’ll be doing on Sunday.  This is going to be awesome.

Oh to live in Halifax! Running to my husband’s t-shirt stash almost as I read. Will live vicariously.
